Mobile voice call quality continues to improve in October: NTRA

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) report on the quality of mobile services during October showed improvement in the performance of Egypt’s three mobile telecommunications companies. There were only 300 failed voice calls called attempts of an approximately 28,300 calls conducted in Cairo, in addition to 132 calls that were dropped.

There were only 300 failed voice calls called attempts of an approximately 28,300 calls conducted in Cairo, in addition to 132 calls that were dropped.

The report showed that Vodafone excelled in voice calls services in Cairo, where more than 13,070 connections were attempted, of which only 85 failed. Mobinil ranked second, with over 12,900 connections attempted and only 97 failed. Etisalat was third, with 118 failed operations of a total of 14,070 connection attempts.

As for call dropping, Mobinil was the better operator with only 30 calls dropped out of a total of 12,900 calls. Vodafone came second with only 32 dropped calls of 13,070 conducted. Etisalat came in third place, dropping 70 of 14,070 calls.

Mobinil topped the rankings for quality of mobile internet services with no failed attempts to connect to the internet and 5,300 successful connections. Etisalat was second, with 11 failed attempts out of a total 4,200 connections. Vodafone followed, with 12 failed attempts of 4,800 connections.
