In an interview with Spanish media regarding Real Madrid facing Valencia at Mestalla stadium on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo said, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I go to bed with a clear conscience and sleep well every night. We cannot obsess over what others think of us, otherwise we would not live”.

He made these comments when the Santiago Bernabeu crowd whistled at him as he missed a penalty in Madrid’s 3-1 wins over Real Sociedad Wednesday.

“Even God wouldn’t be able to please everyone. It’s a spontaneous thing; I don’t plan it, I react because I don’t like losing and sometimes I regret it afterwards,” he said. “This is how I am: I was ironing my clothes when I was 11-years-old; I lived a very hard life before. My mental strength goes back to those days. If everything I’ve achieved in football has made me this way, I can’t be expected to change. If you ask me to improve I will accept. But changing is really hard.”

Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo ended 2015 as La Liga’s top scorer in the last season with a total of 37 goals, three more than his rival Messi. Los Blancos’ best ever goal scorer Cristano Ronaldo is just one goal behind La Liga top goal scorer Barca striker Luis Suarez  with 15 goals.
