EgyptAir is studying cooperation with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), which produces jets and spare parts and provides maintenance work and training.

In this context, there was a meeting between Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company Sherif Fathy and a Chinese delegation from AVIC to discuss the expected memorandum of understanding (MoU).

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of future cooperation between EgyptAir and AVIC, particularly in the air transportation sector.

Fathy said the discussions were a preliminary step to signing a MoU between EgyptAir and AVIC. The MoU aims to establish a regional maintenance centre in Egypt, which will serve Africa and cooperate in the fields of training and other aviation services.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company and Chairman of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering Abou Taleb Tawfik from Egypt. Chinese AVIC Regional Director in Africa Yang Zheng and AVIC’s agent in Egypt Mostafa Moussa also attended the meeting.
