Uber to provide delivery services for Starwood clients

Uber signed an agreement with Starwood group for hotels and tourist resorts to provide the group with delivery services through Uber’s smart phone application.

According to a statement by Uber, this cooperation aims to provide services to Starwood tourists and guests.

This decision is following Uber’s announcement ofis investing $250m in the Middle East and North Africa, which will be dedicated to the development of its services in Egypt.

Uber contributed to provide job opportunities for more than new 1,000 drivers per month, more than 40% of whom were unemployed before joining Uber. The application enabled more than a million rides in Cairo during one year.

The company’s statistics show that the five most chosen drop-off locations were City Stars, Nile Towers, Smart Village, 26 July Street, and Cairo Festival City. Statistics also revealed that the neighbourhoods in which the application is most used are Heliopolis, Mohandessin, Zamalek, Maadi, and New Cairo.
