The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) demanded that banks operating in Egypt tighten their security measures around their headquarters and branches nationwide during the anniversary of January 25 Revolution on Monday.
Measures should be taken in case of any violence that may occur on that day.
Security departments in the banks sent instructions to the branches to boost the security measures and make sure that the monitoring and alarm devices are working.
CBE decided to suspend work in banks on Monday on the occasion of the anniversary.
According to CEO and Managing Director of Falcon Group Sherif Khaled, the company conducted all the required procedures and measures around the offices of the banks and institutions it secures. It is prepared for any possible negative developments during the anniversary, he said.
He told Daily News Egypt that the company is operating a central control room to follow up on the institutions it secures and its personnel everywhere.
Falcon for security services, affiliated to Falcon Group, is entrusted with securing approximately 22 banks as well as a large number of companies, diplomatic institutions, and universities.
The company acquires about 46% of the private security services market in Egypt. It conducts its work in complete coordination with the Ministry of Interior and works in accordance with the instructions organising the work of the private security companies issued by the ministry, Khaled said.
Besides the security personnel at the banks and institutions’ offices, Falcon deployed fast intervention cars nearby these institutions to provide support in case of any assaults against them.
