Muscat’s capital market experienced a 2.24% gain during the past week, being the only capital market in the Gulf region to escape the downward trends that definedthe week of 13 February.
The stock market in Saudi Arabia dropped by 2.95%; Dubai followed with a 2.52% decline. Qatar dropped by 2.04%
The capital market in Abu Dhabi also declined by 1.67% and Kuwait’s market inched down by 1.29%.
During the last week of January and the first week of February, the Gulf stock markets surged. In the week of 31 January, Dubai’s stock market increased by 7.04% while Abu Dhabi’s saw a 5.89% increase. Muscat’s capital market witnessed a 4.46% increase while Qatar’s rose by 4.44%.
