Nissan sells 14,000 New Sunny models worth EGP 1.6bn

The New Nissan Sunny topped the list of the Japanese best-selling cars in Egypt for 2015, with over 14,000 cars sold and revenues of EGP 1.6bn.

Mitsubishi Lancer sales for 2015 were estimated at EGP 1.2bn, taking second place, with 7,806 cars sold. Diamond Motors, Mitsubishi’s agent in Egypt, is preparing to start stocking the new 2016 model of the Lancer EX sedan next month.

The new Lancer EX features some modifications on the front grill and headlights. The car comes with a 1,600cc engine, generating 156 horsepower at 5,800 rounds per minute, and is available with an automatic gearbox as an option.

The new model offers five price categories ranging between EGP 144,900 and EGP 175,000: J31 sells at EGP 144,900; J32 at EGP 154,900; Q67 at EGP 159,900; J33 at EGP 165,000; and finally Q66 at EGP 175,000.

The Toyota Corolla came third on the 2015 list of bestselling Japanese cars, achieving revenues of EGP 1.3bn from 6,365 cars.

The older model of the Nissan Sunny took fourth place with approximately 3,511 cars sold worth EGP 396m, followed by Suzuki Ciaz with sales of 2,583 cars worth EGP 356m.
