Egyptian women’s national volleyball team advances to African Volleyball Championship final

The Egyptian women’s national volleyball team defeated the Kenyan national team in the semi-final of the African Volleyball Championship.

The competition, which is currently taking place in Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé, serves as  a qualifying tournament for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

The Egyptian team defeated Kenya with a score of 25-22, 24-26, 25-16, 25-20 and 19-17 and the final score was 3-2.

Kenya has previously won the African Volleyball Championship nine times: in 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2015.
