Founder and Chairman of Ousta Transportation Network Company Nader Batrawi revealed that the company will launch its services in Egypt officially in March.

The company will be the third private company to provide transportation services in Egypt. There are two application-based transportation companies in Egypt, Uber and Careem.

Batrawi said the main objective of Ousta is to make the transportation of individuals much easier and safer through a network of modern air-conditioned cars with good drivers. The customers can rely on the company to transport them to different destination using the smart phone application.

The company applies precise standards to choose its drivers and cars. For the driver, the most important criteria are to pass the drug test and have a clean criminal record. The company also trains the driver to follow the safety rules for driving and dealing with the clients, and to obey traffic rules.

The registering car must be modern and air-conditioned and pass a technical examination with regular maintenance to ensure security and safety of the customers.

Batrawi commented on the dispute between private transportation companies and white taxi drivers, saying: “Egypt has more than 90 million people moving day and night and the competition in general raises the service quality and decrease prices. We do not aim to compete with white taxis, but rather develop the quality and safety standards in general.”

Regarding the legal status of the company, he explained that Ousta is a joint stock company subject to the supervision of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority and has a commercial registration and tax card. Its commercial registration falls under renting cars and transportation of individuals.

“We deal with car rental companies and offices, and all cars and drivers are licensed, therefore we have all the legal documents,” he said.
