Egypt will hold an international conference in May for countries concerned with the implementation of development in which different experiences and strategies for economic development will be showcased, announced Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
Nasr’s announcement came as the United Nations celebrated the 50th year of the United Nations for Development Programme (UNDP).
The UNDP is considered a strategic partner for development in Egypt. The country has made significant progress in various fields during the past period, such as improving citizens’ standard of living, according to Nasr.
The agenda is to establish a clear plan for development in order to accomplish sustainable growth, said the minister.
The minister invited president of the Social and Economic Council (ECOSOC) His Excellency Oh Joon, who welcomed the invitation.
The council president praised Egypt’s efforts so far to achieve economic development, adding that the country has the ability to overcome the challenges it faces.
