Three Egyptian track and field athletes have qualified for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics, with the most recent addition being that of Hassan Abdel Gawad.
Ehab Abdel Rahman and Mostafa El Gamal have qualified for the game held in Brazil next August, competing in the javelin throw and hammer throw respectively.
Hassan Abdel Gawad qualified for the games by posting a record setting mark of 78.35 meters in the hammer throw at an Olympic qualifying tournament held in Potchefstroom, South Africa, that was accredited by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
