Egyptian jockey Karim El-Zoughby has qualified for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics by acquiring a sufficient number of points accumulated through individual qualifications.

Egyptian jockey Karim El-Zoughby has qualified for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics by acquiring a sufficient number of points accumulated through individual qualifications.

This is not his first time participating in the Olympic Games; he competed in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics as well as in the 2012 London’s Summer Olympics.

El-Zoughby’s victories abroad are numerous. At the 2005 Mediterranean Games equestrian competition, held in Almeria Equestrian Club in Spain, he won bronze in the individual jumping category. Gold went to Itlay’s Roberto Airoldi, and silver to France’s Thierry Rozier.

In the 2007 Pan Arab Games, held in Cairo, El-Zoughby won silver in individual and team competitions.
