Minister of International cooperation Sahar Nasr announced the Development Leadership Programme (DLP) granted 414 students from 27 governorates US$52m.
The students were selected on the basis of academic merit and leadership, according to Nasr. .
DLP is a joint effort between the Ministry of International Cooperation, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and the American University in Cairo (AUC).
“One of the main pillars of Egypt’s sustainable development is human capacity building, especially through education and training, where it is the quality of education that is the cornerstone to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development,” the minister said at the programme’s inaugural ceremony.
