Three officers were injured in Al-Arish, North Sinai on Friday after a bomb exploded near a military tank, according to state media.
The explosion, which occurred along a road near a police station in Al-Arish, also caused damage to the military tank.
Among those injured were two low-ranking officers and a police lieutenant. They are currently in a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, “Islamic State” (IS) affiliated extremists based in North Sinai have claimed responsibility for dozens of other attacks over the past two years.
Crossfire between Egypt’s armed forces and the militants has led to casualties from both sides, sometimes including civilians.
Earlier on Friday, another four conscripts were injured in a similar explosion in Al-Arish.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports have reported heavy clashes between army forces and militants in Shiekh Zuwied.
