The SME Banking Egypt Conference for 2016 will launch its activities on Monday to discuss small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and the banking sector, under the title “Roadmap for the Future”.
The conference will monitor the facts and figures related to this sector in Egypt and the obstacles to its development. It will also shed light on the financing opportunities for SMEs, and the development of non-banking tools to contribute to the funding process.
The conference, which is held under the auspices of Daily News Egypt, will discuss the initiative by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to support the sector and create a suitable economic climate for SMEs. This initiative seeks to develop and create different types of credit guarantee systems to help in obtaining financing.
The conference will review the experiences of a number of local and international institutions in financing this important sector, including the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), and Bangladeshi and Malaysian entities.
Representatives from the CBE, banks operating in the local market and international financing institutions are expected to attend the conference.
On this occasion, Daily News Egypt will issue a special page on Monday to monitor the major challenges facing the sector and provide a comprehensive vision to support it.
