Egyptian squash champions continue their success in May

Egyptian squash player Youssef Soliman won the 2016 Jersey Squash Classic, celebrated in ST Clement, Jersey on May 14.

Soliman won the final match against English Michael Harris, with scores of 11-6, 11-8, 11-9, and a final score of 3-0.

In the tournament’s women’s division, Egyptian player Hania El-Hammamy won second place. El-Hammamy lost the final match to English Millie Tomlinson, with scores of 11-9, 11-5, 11-3, and a final score of 3-0.

In the 2016 Houston Squash Open, celebrated in Houston, Texas, many Egyptian squash players participated, including Marwan El-Shorbagy, Omar Abdel Meguid, Mazen Hesham, Mohamed Aboul Ghar, and Zahed Mohamed.

Zahed Mohamed exited the tournament, after being defeated by Ausralian Ryan Cuskelly, in the quarter finals, with scores of 8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 8-11, and a final score of 3-1.

Also in the quarter finals, Omar Abdel Meguid exited the tournament, after he lost to his compatriot, Mazen Hesham, with scores of 11-5, 11-8, 6-11, 9-11, 9-11, and a final score of 3-2.

Mazen Hesham exited the tournament in the semifinals, after losing to his compatriot, Marwan El-Shorbagy, with scores of 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, and a final score of 3-2.

The only Egyptians champions to have qualified for the final match include Mohamed Aboul Ghar and Marwan El-Shorbagy. The victory went to Marwan El-Shorbagy, with the following scores: 11-7, 9-11, 11-9, 11-3, and a final score was 3-1.
