The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has put forward a tender to supply and install network equipment and electronic security devices to the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA). The tender is part of the ministry’s national project to develop the infrastructure of government agencies.

Tender specifications issued by the ministry set 19 June for opening the technical sealed envelopes. The ministry requested that the supply take place within 12 weeks of awarding the contract.

The ministry will consider the winning company after evaluating two envelopes, financial and technical. The evaluation is based on the technical specifications of the equipment provided and the training that companies can offer to EFSA employees. A minimum of 37.5 of 50 points in this provision is required for nomination.

Moreover, the ministry also stipulated nomination to companies obtaining 22.5 of 50 points for previous experience, reputation on the local market, and the quality of service during the warranty period.

Companies will need to score 15 out of 20 points in the quality of devices offered in terms of manufacturing defects and problems in previously supplied equipments, as well as international reputation of the devices. A total of 75% is the minimum for companies to be considered across all provisions.

The winning company will supply over 1,300 devices, including Blu-ray media, laptops, LED screens, and fibre-optic networks.
