Drivers at East Delta Transportation went on strike Tuesday, stopping buses going to Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez, demanding the payment of late salaries since January.

The drivers stopped working starting with the night shift on Tuesday. The workers told Daily News Egypt that they made several attempts to approach the management but in vain.

The workers said they have not received any bonuses or compensation for the past two month, and they are being deprived of any medical or social security care.

The strike caused congestion in the bus station to and from the Suez Canal governorates.
