The Tourism Development Authority (TDA) intends to begin examining requests for the latest tenders of available land in early July, according to TDA CEO Serag El Deen Saad.

According to Saad, 184 applicants have submitted proposals for the available tenders.

Saad told Daily News Egypt that the most sought after land by investors is located in Ras Sidr in South Sinai, followed by the North Coast and the Red Sea.

Daily News Egypt revealed in an earlier interview with Saad in May that TDA has put forward 50m sqm of land, which includes 70 investment opportunities.

Thursday is the deadline for offers, according to Saad. The technical examination of bids will begin in coordination with the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).

Saad said that available tenders include lands of areas ranging between 10,000 sqm and 8m sqm.

The new criterion TDA has adopted rules out financial examination of offers proposed, as the prices will be fixed.

“There will only be a technical examination that includes technical, economic, expertise, programmes, and financial solvency, among other essentials,” Saad said.
