Nissan, the first 1% decline

Japan’s Nissan has seen sales decline for the first time, recording a 1% decline during the first four months of 2016, after recording a growth of 4% during the first quarter (Q1) with support from the new Sunny.

Nissan has achieved sales of 6,634 cars between early January and late April, with a decline of 1%, compared to the same period in 2015, where sales of 6,719 cars were achieved.

The sales of the Japanese brand included five models: the new Sunny, Sentra, Qashqai 1.2 Turbo, Sunny Super Saloon, and Juke.

The Japanese brand’s new Sunny succeeded in increasing its sales in Egypt by 8% to occupy the top ranking, registering sales of 4,154 units, compared to 3,842 in the same period last year.
Sentra came in second place with 1,748 units sold. This is a success for Nissan Egypt having assembled the model in its factory in 6th of October City.
Qashqai 1.2 Turbo came in third place with 432 cars, achieving a 38% leap in sales compared to its sales in the first four months of 2015, when it registered 314 sold cars.
The Sunny Super Saloon suffered a historic decline in its sales by 88%, selling only 211 cars compared to 1,710 cars in the comparison period.
The sales of the Juke fell, setting a new sales drop of 92%. The model sold only 26 units in January, February, and April, with zero sales in March, compared to 328 units year-on-year (y-o-y).
Nissan successfully increased its sales in Egypt during the first quarter of 2016 by 4%, which has been supported by its new Sunny.

Nissan registered sales amounting to 5,164 cars over three months, an increase compared to 4,995 units sold in Q1 2015.
The company’s sales in the first quarter of 2016 included five models: new Sunny, Sentra, Qashqai, Sunny Super Saloon, and Juke.

The sales of new Sunny jumped by 13%, seizing the carmaker’s top ranking with 3,053 sold cars in the first quarter, compared to 2,696 in Q1 2015.
Sentra came in second place with 1,460 units sold in three months, followed by Qashqai in third place with 432 cars, achieving a 62% leap in sales compared to Q1 2015 when it registered 267 sold cars.

The Sunny Super Saloon suffered a decline in its sales by 85%, selling only 207 cars compared to 1,370 cars in the comparison period last year.

The sales of the Juke fell by 96%. The model sold only 12 units in January and February and none in March, compared to 270 units in Q1 2015.
