The number of internet users increased from the end of February to March, according to a report issued in June by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
The report indicated that the number of internet users increased from 33.2 million in February to 33.3 million in March.
According to the report, the number of mobile internet users grew slightly, increasing from 25.7 million in February to 25.8 million in March, while the number of USB internet users declined from 3.6 million in February to 3.5 million in March.
The report also signalled a growth in the number of ADSL internet users from 3.9 million in February to 4 million in March.
Cairo had the highest number of ADSL internet users, representing 44% of total users, while governorates in the delta region amounted to 28% of users. Upper Egypt usage accounted for 11% of users, and Alexandria and Marsa Matruh amounted to 11%. Sinai and the Red Sea region accounted for only 6% of the total number of ADSL internet users.
The number of internet users increased from 26.2 million in January to 33.2 million in February.
According to statistics cited in the report, the number of mobile internet users increased from 19.7 million in January to 25.7 million in February, achieving a growth rate of 30%.
The number of USB internet users increased from 2.7 million in January to reach 3.6 million in February, achieving a growth rate of 30.1%.
