CAPMAS said the total index for the manufacturing of beverages stood at 41.80 during April, compared to 135.22 in March, a decrease of 69.1% due to increased production during previous periods and inventory accumulation.
CAPMAS added that the total index for the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products reached 105.21 during April compared to 148.56 in March, a decrease of 29.2% due to the end of the agricultural season as well as lower demand for certain health products.
Meanwhile, the total index for the manufacturing of paper products reached 116.61 during April, compared to 107.71 in March, recording an increase of 8.3%.
CAPMAS attributed the increase to the increased production in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical packets.
“Total index of the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers reached 397.73 during April, compared to 339.28 in March, an increase of 17.2 % due to new orders and increased demand,” said CAPMAS.
