Financial Brokerage Group tops brokerage firms in H1/2016 with 9.5% market share

The Financial Brokerage Group topped the list of securities brokerage firms during the first half (H1) of 2016, and acquired a market share of 9.5% with EGP 15.625bn worth of operations.

The company seized the first spot, backed by executing large-sized deals amounting to a total of EGP 5.666bn, obtaining 24.96% of the deals market in the first six months of the year.

The Commercial International Brokerage Company (CIBC) came in second place through executing operations worth EGP 15.164bn, obtaining a market share of 9.3%. CIBC executed deals worth EGP 1.776bn, obtaining 7.82% of the deals market.

Hermes Securities Brokerage came third with operations worth EGP 14.783bn, obtaining 9% of the market’s operations. However, deals did not do much for Hermes’ ranking. The company executed deals worth EGP 422m in the first half of 2016, obtaining 1.86% of the market’s deals.

In fourth place came Pioneers Securities, through obtaining 5.4% of the securities brokerage market with operations worth EGP 8.862bn. The deals represented an important part of the operations of Pioneers Securities during the first six months. It executed deals worth EGP 1.675bn, obtaining 7.38% of the market’s deals.

Pharos Securities Brokerage came in fifth place, with a market share of 4.4%, through executing operations worth EGP 7.232bn. However, in terms of deals, Pharos came in second place with deals worth EGP 3.341bn and a market share of 14.72%.
