EgyptAir flights resumed to and from Turkey’s Atatürk airport on Saturday, after the latter had been closed due to a coup attempt by on Friday.
The company asked all travellers to stay informed about the status of their flights, in case of any developments, and to recheck their reservations via phone or the company’s website.
One flight returning from Istanbul had been replaced by a bigger airbus, to accommodate the large number of people returning from Turkey.
In addition, the air navigation centre of Egypt is minutely following the situation in Turkey.
EgyptAir conducts about 14 flights to Istanbul weekly.
On Friday, regime-opposing Turkish military forces had announced all flights to and from Atatürk airport cancelled. During the coup attempt, all flights in Ankara were suspended.
