A Polish consortium is considering the establishment of an industrial area at the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). Representatives of the consortium will be choosing between Ain Sokhna and East Port Said for the best suited location for the establishment of an industrial area.
Poland is particularly interested in investing in the SCZone and a Polish government delegation will visit the region before the end of this month, a source at the General Authority of the Economic Zone of Suez Canal told Daily News Egypt.
Since Prime Minister Sherif Ismail’s decision to form the General Authority of the Economic Zone of Suez Canal in December, the head of the authority Ahmed Darwish has met with 516 investors and experts from 22 countries to promote investing in the region, according to his remarks during a press conference end of last month.
The source added that the authority will meet with a delegation of Polish investors to explore investment opportunities in the region.
Darwish noted that he has met with 76 heavyweight consortiums from around the world, including the American Chamber of Commerce, the Mouvement des entreprises de France, and similar organisations in Japan and the Netherlands.
