Chery Tiggo topped the list of bestselling Chinese cars in the Egyptian market over Geely Emgrand 7, which previously occupied the top spot for 16 months. Tiggo registered sales of 1,563 cars at a value of EGP 243m, during the period between January and May. Chery models were released into the market through its agent Ghabbour Auto in March.
Geely Emgrand 7 ranked second and registered sales of 1,482 cars in five months worth EGP 152m.
Chery Envy occupied the third position selling 1,044 cars in the first five months of 2016 worth EGP 104m. Brilliance V5 sold 57 cars worth EGP 8.9m, occupying the fourth position.
Geely Pandino occupied the fifth position registering sales of four cars with sales of EGP 339,000.
Geely Emgrand 7 maintained the top position on Chinese cars sold in Egypt between January and April. The car registered 1,373 cars sold at a value of EGP 141.4m, while Chery Tiggo ranked second selling 1,113 cars with sales registering EGP 163m.
Chery Envy came in third and registered sales of 729 cars in the period at a value of EGP 67m. Brilliance V5 sold 16 cars and occupied the fourth position with total sales registering EGP 2.5m.
Geely Pandino ranked fifth registering sales of four cars at a value of EGP 339,000.
