Hyundai continues to outperform Kia

Hyundai car models occupy the top seven best-selling cars of Korean origin, outperforming Kia, which ranks further down on the list.

Hyundai Verna has maintained its position as the best-selling Korean car from January to May, selling 5,938 cars worth a total of EGP 611m.

Hyundai Tucson ranked second with 3,466 cars sold, worth EGP 1.04bn.

Hyundai Elantra came in third by selling 1,707 cars for EGP 268.8m, and Hyundai Creta ranked fourth with 1,193 cars sold worth EGP 268.4m. The brand’s Accent RB model came in fifth with 1,069 cars sold, worth EGP 166m. Hyundai Solaris ranked sixth with 966 sold cars, followed by Elantra AD with 931 cars.

In eighth place, comes the Kia Cerato with 736 sold cars, worth EGP 143m. This is an improvement for the Korean brand as rankings for January to April show that Hyundai previously occupied the top nine best-selling Korean car models.

In this previous ranking, Hyundai Verna also topped the sales of Korean cars, selling 4,774 cars worth EGP 486.9m.

Hyundai Tucson ranked second with 2,553 sold cars, worth EGP 753m. Hyundai Elantra came in third by selling 1,015 cars for EGP 159m. Hyundai Creta ranked fourth with 891 cars sold worth EGP 197m, and Hyundai Solaris came fifth with 699 cars sold worth EGP 109m. The Accent RB model came sixth with 695 sold cars, followed by Elantra AD with 640 cars, then New Elantra with 574 cars, and in the ninth place the Grand i10 model came in with 548 cars sold.
