President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi will travel to India at the start of September upon an invitation from Indian president Pranab Mukherjee.
The three-day visit, Al-Sisi’s first to India, will precede his participation in the G20 summit taking place in China’s Hangzhou from 4-5 September.
A package of trade and economic cooperation deals and agreements worth around $100m is expected to be signed during the visit.
Al-Sisi is set to meet with a host of top Indian officials during the visit, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, according to a statement from the presidency.
The discussions with the Indian officials and businessmen will focus on developing and diversifying trade between the two countries in addition to discussing an array of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
