The cabinet accepted the resignation of Minister of Supply Khaled Hanafy on Thursday, which he had offered earlier in the day.
Some reports claim that the Administrative Control Authority was awaiting Hanafy’s resignation to open a full investigation into the wheat scandal, in addition to claims that he stayed in a private hotel and spent an exorbitant amount of money.
Government sources revealed that a limited cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place next week, which will include the ministers of health, education, transportation, and investment.
The sources said that the cabinet is considering assigning the investment portfolio to Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
