Hillary Clinton’s team has released new health information regarding the candidate. The revelation earlier this week that Clinton had been diagnosed with pneumonia sparked criticism.
Clinton’s personal doctor weighed in on the presidential candidate’s health on Wednesday amid criticism over the public handling of her medical condition.

Dr. Lisa Bardack said Clinton had been diagnosed with a non-bacterial, non-contagious form of pneumonia and that she’s “healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States.”

Bardack evaluated the White House contender several times over the course of the past week and found that the “remainder of her complete physical exam was normal and [that] she is in excellent mental condition.”

Clinton is currently taking antibiotics to help her recover from the illness and is planning to return to the campaign trail on Thursday. Meanwhile, her team has called on Trump to release his own personal information.

Clinton faces criticism

The former First Lady and presidential hopeful fell ill during a 9/11 memorial in New York on Sunday. A video showing her nearly collapsing during the event soon went viral and led to her team admitting she had been diagnosed with pneumonia a couple days earlier.

The incident also came after footage of Clinton coughing on the campaign trail fed into already existing conspiracy theories regarding her health.

The revelation of Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis drew fierce criticism from supporters and opponents alike, who accused her team of attempting to conceal the candidate’s health condition. In response to the controversy, Clinton’s team announced it would publically release her medical records.

In an interview with CNN on Monday, Clinton dismissed the controversy. “I felt dizzy and I did lose my balance for a minute, but once I got in [the van], once I could sit down, once I could cool off, once I had some water, I immediately started feeling better,” she said.
