Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Gamal Negm is scheduled to participate in the second Leasing Conference, which will be held in Cairo on 11 October.

The conference, entitled “New Insights to Activate Financing Tools”, will host a large number of bankers, investors, and senior government officials. Local and regional leasing companies as well as local and international leasing experts will also attend the event.

Negm is to participate in a special session for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) that highlights the role of leasing companies and to support their growth in the coming period. The session will include a discussion about the possibility of including leasing activity within the CBE’s initiative to finance SMEs at low interest rates in order to ensure the revitalisation of this sector through managing purchases of these projects’ assets.

Throughout the session, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the CBE, and the Social Fund will outline visions about leasing and its ability to play an influential role in financing SME projects.

500 executive leaders from the largest companies operating in the Egyptian market, and representatives of the financial leasing sector are scheduled to participate in the conference, which will focus on issues related to competitiveness and the financial sustainability of the leasing sector in diverse economic sectors, such as real estate, transportation, software, tourism, and industry.
