El-Wilily managed to qualify for the semifinals after she defeated Australia’s Donna Urquhart in the quarterfinals, with a score of 3-1 (14-12/7-11/11-3/11-9).
Gohar qualified after she won against her compatriot Maria Metwaly in the quarterfinals, with the result of (11-7/11-6/11-2).
