Chevrolet has topped sales of US-origin personal cars in Egypt, with its models occupying the first four ranks in the first nine months of 2016. The brand has achieved sales of more than 10,000 cars, representing 75.3% of 14,400 total US car sales in that period.
The Chevrolet Aveo topped the list of best-selling US cars in Egypt, achieving sales of EGP 379m with more than 2,757 units sold, followed by Lanos with 2,678 units sold for EGP 287m. The GP52 model came in third with 2,057 units sold worth EGP 319m.
Cruze came in fourth place with 2,002 cars sold valued at EGP 392m, followed by Jeep Renegade by 1,387 units worth EGP 527m.
Chevrolet dominated the car sales in the Egyptian market until late July, occupying the first five ranks with sales of 8,701 cars, representing 76.4% of 11,400 total US-origin car sales in the market.
During that period, Lanos topped the list of the most sold American cars in Egypt, recording sales of 2,041 units worth EGP 213m, followed by Aveo with 2,000 units valued at EGP 264.5m, then Cruze in the third place with 1,985 units sold for EGP 389m.
New Optra came fourth with 1,361 units sold for EGP 194m, then the GP52 model with 1,314 units sold valued at EGP 195.7m.
