Kia Sportage, manufactured in Kia’s factories in Slovakia, maintained its top spot in European-origin personal car sales in Egypt.
Kia Sportage is considered a European car and benefits from the reduction of customs in accordance with the Egyptian–European partnership agreement.
The car registered sales of 3,116 units during the first nine months of 2016, amounting to EGP 978m.
Opel Astra came in second place with the sale of 2,904 units amounting to about EGP 798.5m, followed by Opel Insignia which recorded sales of 1,902 units worth EGP 798.6m.
Peugeot 301 took the fourth spot on the list, registering sales of 1,436 units worth EGP 229.7m.
Skoda Octavia came in fifth place with the sale of 1,004 units worth EGP 190m.
Kia Sportage maintained its lead over Opel Astra during the first seven months of 2016, to achieve sales of 2,379 units amounting to EGP 666m.
Opel Astra sales fell during that period, coming in second place with sales of 2,326 units worth EGP 604m, followed by Opel Insignia with sales of 1,509 units worth EGP 580m. Peugeot 301 came in fourth place, recording sales of 1,246 units amounting to EGP 174.4m. Skoda Octavia came in fifth place with sales of 934 units worth EGP 177.4m.
