Egypt’s Ahmed Abdel Kawy managed to snatch the silver medal in the above 30 age group at the IJF World Judo Championship being held in the US. The championship is organised by the International Judo Federation.
Abdel Kawy is currently earning his PhD in economics.
Some Egyptians on Facebook criticised that the Egyptian media did not pay attention to this important victory, especially given that the 32-year-old champion travelled to the US and paid for all expenses by himself.
