Security forces on Friday discovered three more bodies of army soldiers believed to have died in the latest attack on Thursday, raising the death toll to 11, according to state media.
The bodies were found around the premises of the checkpoint. Two of the bodies have been identified.
State media reports that there are still two soldiers unaccounted for and they are considered missing in action. The newspaper Al-Akhbar said that there were a total 31 soldiers at the checkpoint.
A statement by the armed forces spokesperson didn’t mention any information about missing personnel or injured soldiers.

The country’s Islamic institutions condemned the attack, asserting that the deceased are considered “martyrs”.
A military funeral is expected to be held for the dead soldiers.
