Egypt took a good share home from the 2016 Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award.
Egypt’s Ahmed Helmy Mohamed Kora won the prize dedicated to Arab referees.
As Hedaya Malak was the first Arab woman to win an Olympic medal in taekwondo, and Sarah Samir was the first Arab woman to win an Olympic medal in weightlifting, they were both presented with the Creative Sports Award.
An honourary ceremony for the winners will be held in Dubai in January 2017.
The Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award is a prestigious prize among Arab countries.
