Egyptian women’s squash team defeats India

The Egyptian team started its journey at the 2016 Women’s World Team Squash Championship in France by winning against India 3-0.

The Egyptian team is composed of four players: Nour El-Sherbiny, ranked first internationally; Nouran Gohar, ranked third internationally; Raneem El-Welily, ranked fourth internationally; and Omneya Abdel Kawy, ranked eighth internationally.

The championship’s first group includes Egypt, India, New Zealand, and Mexico.

This victory came after Abdel Kawy defeated India’s Sunayna Kuruvilla 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, and11-2); El-Sherbiny beat India’s Joshana Chinappa 3-0 as well (11-5, 11-6, and 15-13); and Gohar beat India’s Dipika Pallikal Karthik by 3-1 (4-11, 11-7, 11-4, and 11-9).

In the second round of the first group, Egypt will play against New Zealand, and India will play against Mexico.
