Mona Mina, the undersecretary of the Doctors Syndicate, was acquitted of the charges against her by prosecution authorities, who summoned her in an urgent session on Saturday, after she paid EGP 1,000 in bail.

While discussing the shortage in medical supplies during a TV interview, Mina said she received a complaint from a doctor that the hospital he works for ordered him to use the same syringes more than once on several patients.

Mina was accused of falsely claiming that these were part of general orders being applied in hospitals. She was facing charges of spreading false news.
