“Fazouret Google”, a room built by the Google Middle East and North Africa team, took guests through a series of riddles using a variety of Google products and services such as Voice Search, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Trends.

Joyce Baz, head of communications for Google MENA, said that they wanted to host Fazouret Google to remind people that Google is not only a search engine but also a personal assistant.

“Users have access to information they need faster and better than ever with the new features across Google’s mobile applications,” he added.

Najeeb Jarrar, head of consumer marketing at Google MENA spoke at the event, reiterating Google’s dedication to increasing Arabic content on the web as well as high-quality local content on YouTube. “From the very beginning, we wanted to increase high-quality Arabic content on the web whether on YouTube, Google Play Books, or Street View,” he said.

“We have kept the momentum going with launching initiatives like Pyramids Street View, or YouTube Mosalsalat helping users all over the world discover and explore the region’s culture and heritage.”

While this is the first Escape Room event by Google MENA in the region, Google France built a similar experience in Paris earlier in 2016.
