President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi visited Huawei’s pavilion at the 20th round of the Cairo ICT exhibition and recognised the brand’s vision and contribution to the Egyptian market. The president was accompanied by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser Al-Qadi and executive director of Smart Africa Hamadoun Touré.
Al-Qadi said the upcoming period will see an increase in the dependence on ICT. Huawei is one of the most important companies in the field of digital transformation and has made great contributions to building digital societies across the world which aligns with Egypt’s current goals, he added.
Touré also expressed his recognition of Huawei as an active ICT partner in Africa. “As a global leading ICT solutions provider, Huawei has been continuously making significant contributions to provide telecom connectivity. I believe Huawei’s expertise and experience will promote Egypt’s digital economy,” he said.
Terry Liu, CEO of Huawei Egypt, said the brand is committed to being the strategic partner to Egypt’s ICT development through empowering digital transformation in Egypt across key industries, which will benefit society as a whole.
