The Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr assured Egypt’s commitment to the principles of effective governance and transparency during the Open Government Partnership (OGP) summit in Paris on Saturday.
Nasr participated in a session in which Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Jordan were showcased as an example of successful governments.
She emphasised that Egypt’s top priority is to eliminate poverty and achieve sustainable growth through creating job opportunities and social housing, as well as improving education and healthcare while gradually shifting into using renewable energy sources.
OGP is a multilateral initiative committed to promoting the principles of open and transparent government through civic consultation and participation, reinforcing public integrity, fighting corruption, and increasing access to new technologies to foster democracy, promote innovation, and stimulate progress.
