The Cairo Criminal Court upheld on Thursday a decision to ban 18 defendants and their families from managing their personal finances while facing corruption charges in a case related to wheat supplies, local media reported.

The defendants were initially banned by a decision of the Illicit Gains Authority.

The case resulted in the resignation of former minister of supply Khaled Hanafi.
