A man named Moustafa Saad was killed Thursday in Sharqeya when an explosion took place in the highway of the Al-Mabtana. Another man named Saleh Saleh was critically injured, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior.
The statement added that the explosion took place near a tok tok. Explosive experts investigating the scene stated that the cause of the explosion is still unknown.
According to the ministry, the injured man was hospitalised and will be questioned when his condition is stable.
Investigation teams found a melee weapon, broken plastic sticks, and a substance suspected to be powder.
The prosecution is currently in charge of investigating the incident.
