In the presence of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Khaled Abdel Aziz, and the president of the Egyptian Basketball Federation, Magdy Abou Farikha, the draw of the 2017 Basketball World Cup for players under 19 years took place on Saturday in Mohamed Ali’s palace, Cairo.
The tournament will take place from 1 to 9 July, at the Cairo International Stadium, with the participation of 16 countries: Egypt, Angola, Mali, the USA, Canada, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Iran, Japan, Korea, France, Lithuania, Italy, Germany, Spain, and New Zealand.
The draw placed Egypt in the second group, along with Germany, Puerto Rico, and Lithuania.
New Zealand, Korea, France, and Brazil are in the first group.
The third group includes Canada, Japan, Spain, and Mali, and the fourth includes Iran, Angola, Italy, and the USA.
