Parliamentary Speaker Ali Abdul Aal will meet on Tuesday with vice-president of the German parliament Johannes Singhammer, with the attendance of the Foreign Affairs Committee, state-run media outlets reported.

The meeting will discuss regional and international issues and strengthening their parliamentarian cooperation amid the strong relationship both countries are witnessing in this current stage.

Singhammer also met on Monday with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in which they discussed the Egyptian point of view towards various regional and international issues, as well as ways to further enhance Egyptian-German relations and increase German investment in Egypt in the coming period.

During the meeting, Al-Sisi sent his greetings to German chancellor Angela Merkel, praising the Egyptian-German relations, and referred to the multiple meetings held with the German chancellor over the past two years.

The president expressed Egypt’s strong interest in enhancing cooperation with Germany in different fields, and he also expressed his aspiration to increase contribution and participation of German companies in several development projects in Egypt.

He also praised the German companies’ performance and what they have provided in terms of efficiency and accuracy, saying that all this reflected that the German individual is characterised by seriousness, discipline, and reverence for the value of work.

The meeting was held in the presence of the German ambassador to Cairo, Julius Georg Luy. The visit of Singhammer to Egypt came days before Merkel’s scheduled visit in March.
