The Hungarian ambassador to Egypt, Péter Kveck, met with the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Khaled Abdel Aziz, on 21 February at the ministry’s headquarters. The meeting aimed at boosting bilateral relations in the field of sports, especially sports training.

Abdel Aziz said that “Egypt has several sports establishments that are able to fully host sports teams of different fields. These establishments include: the Olympic Center in Maadi, Al-Gezira Youth Center, and the Sports Developments Centers in Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.

During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of sending Egyptian trainers to Hungary, especially coaches for football, volleyball, and water-polo, bearing in mind the Hungarian history in these disciplines.

Kveck said in this regard, “Hungary previously hosted the Egyptian clubs of Al-Ahly, Gezira Club, and Heliopolis Club in different kind of sports.”

He added that he will present the matter to the Hungarian government, in order to activate the sports cooperation, exchange sports visits, and establish joint camps for sports and national teams of both countries in the upcoming period.
