Egyptian geographic-information project “Geo-portal,” launched by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in November 2016, received the “Smart Government Shield” award in the Arab Region of 2017.
Geo-portal provides official national statistics using geographic and spatial analysis methods, and it is considered a revolutionary leap in the field of information technology. It also provides access to various forms of information support for data users especially investors, whether Egyptian or foreign, and it supports the government’s efforts in this area.
