On an official work mission to the United States, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser Al-Qadi and his accompanying delegation met with leaders of electronic payment solutions and financial inclusion technologies firm MasterCard at the company’s headquarters in New York.
The two sides agreed to hold a workshop in Cairo to discuss the aspects of future cooperation on the development and activation of a strategy for Egypt’s transition into a digital economy, by providing government subsidies through smart cards with several privileges, which will ensure that subsidies reach those who need them most. This is in addition to smart transportation systems, as well as future cooperation to benefit from giant data analysis that supports decision-makers to push the economy forward. Through this cooperation, entrepreneurs and start-ups in the field of innovation and integrated programs will be supported through the establishment of a company’s centre in one of the technological parks.
Al-Qadi and the delegation also met with Jon H. Larson, the fourth president of Ocean County College in New Jersey. During their meeting, they agreed to sign a cooperation protocol with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, so as to build stronger strategic relations and enhance future cooperation, including the establishment of an innovation centre in the new technological park in New Assiut and linking it to Assiut University to provide training for young innovators.
Ocean County College provides a number of educational paths in different methods that fit all students and support continuous learning. It also offers various academic degrees in applied science.
