Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar signed a cooperation protocol with Mohamed Ashmawy, Tahya Misr fund’s CEO; Atter Hannoura, chairperson of Al-Reef Al-Masry for Development; and with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Otaiba, chairperson of Genaan Investment, to establish a project for the planting of 20 million palm trees, grains, and different oil crops.
Al-Assar pointed out that the ministry will provide all equipment, tools, irrigation systems, and tractors needed for the cultivation process. All the equipment will be supplied through the ministry’s subsidiary companies.
Ashmawy said that the project is part of the Sustainable Development Plan 2030, which aims to expand the land allocated for agriculture in Egypt. He noted that the fund is keen on taking part in the project through providing necessary funding.
Meanwhile, Hannoura said that the company will provide the land for the project in accordance with the strategy of the 1.5-million-feddans projects. He noted that the project will bridge the food supply gap through providing crops and animal feed.
